On February 8 2010, the Torch of Life arrived at Manchester City Hall, where Mayor Ted Gatsas lit the Torch. He passed it to students from St Joseph's Jr High & Derryfield Schools. They were joined by their families. The Students carried the Torch first to St Joseph's, then after to Derryfield's. Derryfield student Travis ran with his shorts in chilling weather. A student assembly recieved the students during a gathering at the school's auditorium.
